Determined Jeffrey makes his way to Switzerland on foot

St James’ Branch member Jeffrey Long crossed country borders and covered 600 miles on foot this summer as he travelled from London to Lausanne in Switzerland.

The 75-year-old reached the heart of Lausanne on 26 July – 39 days after setting off from the Legion’s Pall Mall office. To date, his feat has raised over £3,000 for the Poppy Appeal.

Jeffrey said: “I would like to thank all my sponsors, the Swiss Branch of the Legion for their hospitality and wonderful presentation to me, Alan Wombon for his support, and RAF Regiment Honnington for the kit supplied.”
